State-of-the-art housing for the full-frame mirrorless Canon EOS R camera. Compact, compatible with the YS optical converter and ergonomically designed.

Features
Designed to be compact and lightweight.
Taking advantage of the mirrorless camera's compact design and light weight, the housings are designed to enhance these features. Compared to the SLR MDX-5D Mark lV camera housing, the MDX-R is 100 g / 3.5 oz lighter on land.

Ports and gears for MDX-series SLX enclosures can be used.
The MDX-R is compatible with the system board for MDX-series SLR housings. You can use EF-mount lenses with the mount adapter and ports/gears for MDX-series housings.

Port System Card
Compatible with Optical YS Converter C / R (provisional name). TTL flash possible.
The new optional optical YS converter C / R*, which converts the camera's hot shoe TTL signal into an LED light signal, is available. The converter allows both TTL and manual exposure photography.

Designed for lenses with RF mounts.
The Focus / Zoom dial has two gears, one dedicated to lenses with RF mounts.
The top control panel of the camera is visible.
A window for the camera's top control panel has also been incorporated. As the brightness of the camera's top control panel has increased, visibility is now significantly improved.

Other features of the MDX-R
- The Port Lock prevents the port from rotating or becoming loose and the Port Lock lever is specially positioned to prevent accidental unlocking.
-The housing features a lens lock button that makes it easy to change lenses without opening the housing.
- Pulling out the focus/zoom knob gives enough space in the housing to easily accommodate larger-diameter lenses.
- All controls have Glow in the dark stickers that light up in dark environments.
- Equipped with the optical viewfinder 0.5x as standard. Other optional viewfinders such as the optical viewfinder 0.66x and 0.8x can be used.
※ Some vignetting occurs. When the VF45 and VF180 1.2x is mounted on the housing, the corners of the camera viewfinder cannot be viewed due to vignetting.
- Sync cord 2-pin connector allows use of conventional wired sync cable (manual mode only).
- Equipped with two sacrificial zinc diodes (one at the front and the other at the back) to prevent damage caused by electrolysis.
- Features under guard to protect against scratches.
