That Japanese don't like half-measures is already well known. For the Japanese company Sea & Sea, the same naturally applies! Hence, Sea & Sea's new DX-6G compact camera not only looks cool, but is also very good quality! The DX-6G features a razor-sharp 16-megapixel CMOS image sensor, which captures beautiful photos and Full HD movies even in difficult lighting conditions. The battery has a usage time of about 300 shots or over 4 hours in standby, certainly enough for 2 dives. The housing is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 55 metres, has a good grip to hold and is easy to operate.

Of course, this camera has everything you would expect from an adult compact camera, but just a bit more!
Thus, not only is the housing waterproof, but also the camera inside is guaranteed to be waterproof up to 14 metres. And the camera is crush-proof up to 100 kg and drop-proof up to 1.6 metres. Which is nice, because then your camera will just keep working, in the exceptional case if you do accidentally get water in your housing or if you drop it out of your hands.
The camera itself is equipped with a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor for razor-sharp shots even in more difficult lighting conditions. And has a Full HD movie function of 1920/30fps, a slow motion and timelapse function.

Highly applicable for underwater, the DX-6G is equipped with a microscopic macro setting that allows you to shoot with the camera in sharp focus up to 1 cm from your subject. That's almost up against the lens! And that's without optional converter lenses! Even the smallest subjects are now in sharp focus! To let the light from the internal flash fall as beautifully as possible onto the subject, a ring diffuser is supplied as standard, which you can click and remove from the housing underwater.

The Sea & Sea DX-6G camera features special underwater programme to reduce excessive blue light on the shots. A manual white balance setting and EV correction from -2 to +2 in 1/3^e steps. You can set the ISO light sensitivity to automatic or manual from 125 to 6400.

The DX-6G camera comes standard with a 28mm lens with 5x zoom and 7x digital zoom. Optionally, a Sea & Sea wide-angle converter lens WCL06 SS (#52152) can be clicked onto the housing by a factor of 0.6x to increase the field of view to about 16 mm. This lens can be placed on the housing underwater in no time and removed just as easily. A lens holder (#52121) is optionally available to store the lens safely underwater.
Thus, an LCD Monitor Hood with Lens (#52121) is also available as an accessory. You place this on the back of the housing. It reduces the reflection of incoming light on the display and features a lens to enlarge the display, making it easier to read your display underwater. This makes shooting with the DX-6G set much easier.

The separate DX-6G camera can also be used exceptionally well without its housing as, for example, an all-round holiday camera. With 25 pre-programmed scene mode settings, you always get the best shot in every conceivable situation. This can be selected automatically by the camera or you can set it yourself.
It is waterproof, moisture, sand and dust-resistant and can easily take a beating. A camera you can actually have with you at all times.

As an extra, the Sea & Sea DX-6G includes a selfie tool for the best selfie result and also a "Smile detection" that ensures that the picture is taken at the moment the person in your picture is smiling. Afterwards, portraits can even be made a bit slimmer with the "face smaller" function.

You can play back the captured recordings directly on your TV via an optional HDMI cable, or if you use a Flash-Air SD memory card (Eye-Fi) (preferably from Toshiba), you can connect wirelessly to a tablet or smartphone to transfer the recordings.
The DX-6G uses all modern standard SD cards. The Wi-Fi function only works with a "Wi-Fi card" like Flash Air or EyeFi.

Extra exposure is a necessity underwater. That's why you can easily complement the DX-6G with the Sea & Sea YS-03 DTTL flash set. This flash unit automatically measures the amount of light in the environment and the output of the internal flash and adjusts the amount of flash light accordingly. So you actually always have the right amount of light on your shots. The camera DX-6G also copes well with the heavier flash Sea & Sea YS-D2. The housing has 2 connections for an optical fibre cable to control up to 2 flashes simultaneously. A deflector is fitted in the housing to ensure that the camera's torch can drive the flash units properly in the flash cable connection.
*The flash YS-01 cannot be used with this camera set.

On top of the housing is a cold shoe socket into which an accessory such as, for example, the Sea & Sea Hot Shoe arm (#29501) or the Sea Arm SA8 Ball Base Accessory Shoe (#22139) can be inserted. This allows you to place, for example, an auxiliary light, focus light, video light or flash on your housing.
