Arco de Man
Arco made his first dive in Mexico in 2001 and soon after got his PADI OWD in the Netherlands. He has been hooked on diving ever since. Arco bought his first camera after being asked about the underwater world by people around him, he wanted to use it to bring out the unknown world.
Underwater photography is his passion, the camera goes with him every dive. Success in photography paid off through many awards in photo competitions. By now, the number of medals has risen quite nicely and the crowning achievement was the participation for the Netherlands in 2015 in the World Underwater Photography Championship as a photographer, resulting in 2 photos in the top 10.
The images Arco creates can often be recognised by their composition. He always tries to capture the subject or environment in such a way that the image really captures the imagination.
What characterises his style of photography are often the photos in portrait mode, whether wide-angle or macro. In underwater photography, this is an extra challenge and it makes you think even more about the composition with which you can distinguish yourself.
The camera Arco now uses is an Olympus OM-D EM1MK3 in a Nauticam underwater housing with two YS-D3 Mark II strobes.
His first really serious camera was an Olympus Pen 1, then he had another Canon in a Sea&Sea body. The flash units he has had are the YS-60, YS-110A, YS-01, YS-03.
